Chrome extension privacy policy
The AmDital Chrome extension only talks to your own AmDital workspace. No ads, no third-party trackers, no browsing history.
This policy covers the AmDital: Time, Attendance & Tasks extension for Google Chrome. It is a companion to your AmDital workspace: it brings time tracking, attendance, tasks and timesheets into your browser toolbar. Everything the AmDital service itself does with your workspace data is covered by our main privacy policy, which also applies here.
What the extension handles
Sign-in details. The email address and password you type into the extension are sent to AmDital to sign you in. The password is not stored by the extension. The session tokens AmDital returns are kept on your device so you stay signed in.
Your workspace data. Your name, email, role and workspace, plus the timers, attendance, tasks and timesheets you view or change in the extension. These are read from and written to your own AmDital workspace — the same data you see in the web app.
Idle state and attendance. The extension uses Chrome's idle detection to notice when your computer becomes idle or locked, so it can pause a running timer and alert you instead of logging time you didn't work. Your own clock-automation setting in AmDital decides what else happens: with “PC idle”, the extension records when you went idle and when you came back in your attendance, whether or not a timer is running; with the default “time entries”, starting a timer checks you in if you aren't checked in yet. It only receives Chrome's active, idle or locked state — never keystrokes, mouse movement or screen content.
Screenshots, only when you ask. When you open the bug-report form, the extension captures the tab you are looking at. You can review it, and it is only sent if you submit the report, as an attachment on a task in the workspace project you choose. The extension never captures tabs at any other time.
What it never does
It does not read your browsing history, the pages you visit or their content, apart from the one screenshot you ask for in the bug-report form. Its only page script runs on app.amdital.com, and all it does there is listen for you signing out of the web app so the extension signs out too. It contains no analytics, advertising or third-party tracking code and loads no code from outside the extension package. We do not sell extension data, use it for advertising, use it to determine creditworthiness, or use it for anything other than the features described above.
Where data goes
The extension connects to exactly two addresses: app.amdital.com and api.amdital.com, both run by AmDital. Data travels over HTTPS. Nothing is sent to any other company from the extension. On your device, data is stored in Chrome's local extension storage, not Chrome sync, so it is not copied to your Google account or other devices.
How long it stays
Signing out removes your session from the extension. Uninstalling the extension removes everything it stored on your device. Data saved to your workspace (timers, attendance, tasks and bug-report attachments) follows the retention rules in our main privacy policy.
Chrome Web Store user data policy
Our use of information the extension receives complies with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.
Your rights and questions
You can access, export, correct or delete your data as described in our main privacy policy. For any question about the extension, reach us through our contact page.
